"it was the same way with my Garrison.  I owned it for years, was happy with how it played.  Then had it set up and wondered why I had not taken it in for a tune up sooner.  Nicer action, easier to play."

"I agree.    The lemon oil will add moisture to the wood again.  I have also used Teak Oil with my guitars and it worked really well."
