Mixing down when using vocal correction plug-in
I have a question. When I mix down my tracks to a stereo master how does the vocal processing effect continue working? It seems it only takes effect when you play it in the "raw" (non-downmixed) version. When you mix the tracks down to stereo tracks does it still control to vocal process? Does anyone know if vocal correction corrects the vocal track and leaves it "fixed" or it is active as the track is played? hue replied to J D Carroll's discussion Using "active" VSTs on final mixdown in the group Home Recording"First of all. NEVER mix down to MP3. Mix it down to wav. It just sounds better. Afterward you can convert it if you like. MP4 AIFF are much better formats.

I have a question. If I am using an "active" VST plugin like Antares Vocal or Presonus BBE, on the final mix will the computer record the effect? If I mix it down to an MP3 the effect does not seem to work. I am guessing that those type effects only work in real time, meaning the effect only works when you play file with the effect engaged, you can't record the effect. Anybody have any experience with this?
