Yes, tone as well as visual appeal is essential. My new parlor guitar has lacewood back and sides, and its tone character has its own unique timbre. The instrument's inspiring me to pick it up, and practice! Now the possibilities of other unique woods and shapes seem endless.

Jay, thanks for the friendship. Your website is great! Elegant guitars... Love the incredible 2-tone rosewood dreadnought... though your Englemann/Honduran dreadnought.is a bit closer to my budget. Gorgeous work.
