"That sounds fishy to me. It is not a law per se that is being violated but the claim of an unauthorized use of protected materials which is a civil matter. Many years ago I was an ASCAP investigator and, while the rules may have changed some since…"

GuitGeezer replied to Todd Allyn Fleming's discussion natural nails are best in the group Fingerstyle players

GuitGeezer replied to Kevin Richard Nightingale's discussion changing steel strings to nylon on a guitar built for steel strings. in the group Fingerstyle players
"I think it somewhat depends on the guitar itself. I have an Ovation shallow body that I had put nylon strings on for many years (it has a neck that is almost like an electric) and it was never a problem, in fact it worked very well.. The tone was…"

"Hi Don I don't think there is any particular order to what you want to learn. If you are drawn to do some fingerstyle playing then you should just do it. Start with some simple patterns, maybe find a few easy solo pieces, and let your hands…"

Dealing with hand problems

My hands have been playing guitar for close to 50 years (I started young...:) and I find that these days, particularly if I am playing a lot, I sometimes have muscular pain in my hands and/or symptoms consistent with carpal tunnel syndrome such as tingling and numbness that can be disturbing. Fortunately it has not been constant and has not yet kept me from being able to play - and I would like to keep it that way. I am wondering if anyone out there experiences or deals with similar issues and…See More

Welcome to the AG Community...just checked out your page and also saw your comments under the Home Recording group. I'm no polished home recording expert...been at it for 3 plus years now...trying to get more knowledge and learn any little tid bits that can improve our (my wife Trish and I) written song's recordings. I could give you some ideas about ..what not do do....been there did that...if you're interested, just give me shout back.

Hi

Glad you enjoyed that piece and thanks for leaving a comment. In regards to coming to Asheville and doing a house concert: I often do house concerts when I'm on the road... sometimes in addition to a guitar workshop. Why not send me an email at ltw@littletobywalker.com and perhaps we could set something up.

Thanks again,

Toby
