Two very low end Martins, DMX1KE and DXM, Breedlove Atlas Series AD25/SM, Breedlove Atlas Series Retro D/ER, and I was given an old Sears Silvertone that was played twice, 25 years ago, and put up ever since, until a very old widow gave it to me, two years ago. I took it to a guitar tech friend of mine and had him go over it good and clean it up. It has been put up in it's case ever since.
I don't really have a large amount of gear, but here's what I do have:
Fender Passport PD-500 PA and a Shure Beta SM58 vocal mic
Crate, CA6110D acoustic amp; a Digitech Vocalist Live 2 pedal
Digitech RP200 foot pedal and a Boss DD-3 Digital Delay pedal
Boss BR1600 Digital Recording Studio
Edirol, Powered Monitors
Two, Audio Technica AT2020 mics; MXL500 and MXL551 mics and an Audio Technica ATM450 mic; Audio Technica ATH-122 headphones and Koss UR-20 headphones
I have a lot of shirt tail relatives down in that area but I grew up in Montana and after booming around for quite a few years in the military and later working for NOAA I'm now retired and living in Washington State.
This is Doug MacLeod getting back to you. And yep, I'm the same guy. Thanks for the cool words. I'm glad you enjoyed the stories and the playing! I hope this reaches you. It's my first time here in this neighborhood.
Okay, I just sent him a note. By the way, it seems I did in fact tell him your name before and also gave him the link to your original post. I just forgot -- these senior moments keep threatening to become more frequent! I apologize if that was not appropriate.
No problem, but thanks for your note! I do hope your situation has improved. If you do contact Dick, just mention my name and the Acoustic Guitar Community so he'll have a reference point, since I haven't given him yours, only a little info about you. If you'd like me to tell him you might contact him, I'll be happy to.
May God continue to bless you and to think I was feeling sorry for myself because I can't seem to get my fingers to learn Travis picking. But after reading about the blessing the Lord has given you, I think I will say a prayer to thank the Lord that I can use my healthy hands to strum my songs.
Your brother in Christ. Coke2
I have read your post, "Seeking Wise Counsel," several times and prayed about it some. I feel led to suggest something to you that might help and that you might even be predisposed to follow up on since you are in the ministry. A good friend of mine, Dick Robinson, a retired Presbyterian pastor who now lives in Roswell, GA, not too far from you, has had a healing minstry for many years. I have personally benefitted from his ministry and can tell you that it is powerful. Here is his Web site: http://www.healingourhearts.org/ When you visit the site, click on "About me" to learn more about Dick and his background. Although his Website emphasizes inner healing, he and his wife, Carrie, are also involved in physical healing and have seen many healings when they have prayed for people. I have mentioned your situation to Dick, but without mentioning your name or going into too many details, and he says that if after you explore his Web site you want to contact him you should feel free to do so. I'm sure he would be glad to pray for you and with you about your situation.
