"I am fairly new to this group but I love the Epi's. I have had lots of them but currently have 5. Dove NA, Masterbuilt AJ 500 M, PR 650 ASB, AJ 220 ST and an SG. I like the new 64 Texan remake and wanted some info from current owners about what…"
"The show to go to every year is the MACC. Hoover Y-Park in South Columbus/Obetz area. This is the ultimate Bluegrass fan weeklong party! Go to www.bluegrassclassic.com to see the line-up. The facility has showers, food and is close enough to…"
"I have an old 70's MIJ Sigma that is solid and plays great but somebody along the way did a do it yourself paint brush restoration on. I have Stewart-McDonald waterbase lacquer and vintage amber stain that I am going to try myself. I paint my…"
"My '78 G-37 spent a lot of it's life in Montana doing bar band duty. Now it lives in humidified comfort in Columbus, Ohio. It has a lot of checking in the top also but it gives it character and does not hurt the sound and projection this…"
"Thanks for the welcome Joe.
I have only been playing for 3 years and am still very much a beginner.
I was very reluctant to join any of these groups due to my inexperience and low skill level.
However, I decided to take the plunge and see what…"
" I bought this 1980 Guild G-37 made in Rhode Island for $300 on the local Craigslist. Great guitar, solid maple back and sides and the kind of booming sound you would want out of a vintage guitar. If you know what you want have more than enough…"
"I live in Columbus,OH and the shows here are in January and June. They are good ones with lots of vendors and plenty of people wandering around with stuff to sell. There have been a lot of Guilds popping up on the local Craigslist. I linked to it if…"
"Thanks Joe, mine is a 1980 as well. When I met it in 2009, loved the blonde and then picked it up and felt the flippin weight and thought " wow this is a beast ". I love the sound and it's structural integrity as well. I use Martin…"
"I love it! It is a 1980 so it has been "broken in" and has that nice bright maple tone. It is heavy and built like a tank so you can abuse it just stays where I have it set up at. Although my new puppy pulled at the strap while it was on…"
Thanks Joe, mine is a 1980 as well. When I met it in 2009, loved the blonde and then picked it up and felt the flippin weight and thought " wow this is a beast ". I love the sound and it's structural integrity as well. I use Martin Marquis phosphorus as well and am happy with those. How but the resonance duration if you strike a chord and then put the guitar on its stand ? It rings for like 90 seconds it seems. It's my first Guild but surely not my last. I have been playin a mid 70's Madeira since like 91' (Korean Guild import) and always liked it til I bought the G37. Thanks for the comment and have a great weekend. Playin with friends around a fire tomorrow night...Keep on strummin" !!!
I'll comply as soon as I can. (I'm technologically challenged, so my daughter will have to show me how to post a picture next time she's here from Westerville; usually once or twice a month.)
I'm going to go play my sweet Betsy for a couple of hours.(I'm retired after working 40 years and I'm trying to play 5 or 6 days a week, to make up for all the times I didn't play when I was working) My brother-in-law loves the Brooks & Dunn song, Neon Moon, so I'll have to go brush-up on it. Not too long ago, I could play and sing it fairly well.
