"Maybe you got lucky and found one of the hand full they they made for some artist. I am like you and buy sell and trade and always can sell an Epiphone. I have never had an EJ body. I have been more into the AJ body and have traded my way into a…"
"I just put one on my Martin where Jud put his. You can grind the strap pin down to the correct angle before you install it but that does not make it work any better. Just drill a small pilot hole so you don't take a chance of splitting the wood…"
"The 12 string maple sounded great. I was out looking today and did not find any 12 string Seagulls. I found a nice sounding 80's Alvarez and a Mexican Martin but not what I want. I have a spruce top S6 along with a Martin D-1 and a Gibson J-45…"
"I went out and tried an NE yesterday. He said they just got the Seagull line in not too long ago and have been selling very well. This is a very good independent shop that I have bought several guitars from. Humidified room and always tuned and the…"
"Every one is right. Humidity, string age, what kind of strings, lights or mediums, even as simple as who played around with the tunings before you touched it. Put your tuner ien your pocket next time you go looking. The last new one I bought I tried…"
"I have a D-1 I took in on trade and I do love that one and it is not even one of the higher end Martins. That has me looking for a good used one. I live in Ohio and there are some shows coming up and I am taking the motorhome through Nashville to…"
Thanks Joe, mine is a 1980 as well. When I met it in 2009, loved the blonde and then picked it up and felt the flippin weight and thought " wow this is a beast ". I love the sound and it's structural integrity as well. I use Martin Marquis phosphorus as well and am happy with those. How but the resonance duration if you strike a chord and then put the guitar on its stand ? It rings for like 90 seconds it seems. It's my first Guild but surely not my last. I have been playin a mid 70's Madeira since like 91' (Korean Guild import) and always liked it til I bought the G37. Thanks for the comment and have a great weekend. Playin with friends around a fire tomorrow night...Keep on strummin" !!!
I'll comply as soon as I can. (I'm technologically challenged, so my daughter will have to show me how to post a picture next time she's here from Westerville; usually once or twice a month.)
I'm going to go play my sweet Betsy for a couple of hours.(I'm retired after working 40 years and I'm trying to play 5 or 6 days a week, to make up for all the times I didn't play when I was working) My brother-in-law loves the Brooks & Dunn song, Neon Moon, so I'll have to go brush-up on it. Not too long ago, I could play and sing it fairly well.
