I see a lot of this junk on Craigs that is banned.

Hello To All,I am considering buying a Line 6 G-50 wireless system. I play in a acoustic rock group and the cable jam is getting to be almost too much. I've checked out wireless systems on Musicians Friend, Guitar Center, Youtube, etc. and really like the freedom they offer. I play rhythm guitar with a Taylor grand concert and/or a Martin D35. I live in a very high humidity area (Costa Rica) and I was wondering why guitar manufacturers don't finish the inside of the guitar? It would make sense that if you sealed all wood, outside AND inside on a guitar, or any wooden instrument, it would absorb less humidity and thus prolong the life of the guitar and reduce expensive trips to the luthier. Would an extremely thin coat of clear finish adversly affect the the sound?

For about 6 months I played 5-6 nights a week in an acoustic rock band. My wrist and left hand started getting the classic symptoms- numbness, tingling. It would sometimes wake me up at night. I wear the splint now and ice my wrist after practice/gigs and pop 400mg of ibuprofen and it's seems to be getting better. I'm going to lay off the guitar for a week while I'm on vacation and see what happens. Is there anybody out there who's ever had the surgery and still plays? I'd be interested in…See More

I was raised in Luanda, Angola. Tropical Africa, high humidity during the cold season but... no rain. Tremendous heath during the rain season, then tropical rain, then hot and dry. I now live in Lisbon, Portugal, Europe, temperate and by the sea. Hot and dry summer, moderately cold and humid winter, nice Spring and Autumn. Here is what I learned from experience: 1) Factory instruments are more stable than Luthier-made ones. 2) Have 2, or 3, different bridge saddles for each guitar (high, medium and low), and change them when necessary (especially in old instruments. 3) During hot humid weather, if you bring your instrument into a place with air conditioned; or in humid winter, if you move it into a place where there is artificial heath, in both cases you move it into a dry place. The sudden change to dry brings the risk of top crack. So, bars, pubs, coffee houses, are a threat. But, if you breathe into the soundhole, say, two or three times every half an hour, you minimize the hazzard because you put humidity inside the instrument, precisely where the woods are not varnished, so, they will absorb more.
