I had a T5 - totally different and no problem...even has 2 end pins; neither is the jack.

I am glad people are keeping this discussion going. The indent on the endpin was something new. I'm giving serious thought to buying a Taylor T5, so I'm going to give the endpin a close inspection. Bob Taylor invests so much effort into designing ...

A bit late in Posting, but I put some brass bridge pins on my Martin DC16 RGTE and find what you say interesting. When I put them in I noticed a little bit of "boom" to the performance. It did change the way it sounded, Im thinking after what you ...

The problem with Taylors of the vintage we are discussing is not so much the size of the end pin (although that contributes), but rather the size of the indent for the strap...before buying the Taylor strap, I had taken one on my other leather str...

2002 314-CE. My endpin jack looks exactly like the one pictured. I wonder if Taylor is aware of this thread???

I have two nice Levy straps and the one I use on my Gibson Songwriter, I opened the hole diameter just a little to allow for the larger diameter of the Pin on the cable jack. Works fine now and I really did not take off very much. You may also wan...

You're right. Never seen such a silly mistake. That's one of the most stupid things a company can do. In this case the companies are two: Fishman and Taylor. I've put the K&K Sound System on every of my guitars (taken away Fishmans, Shadows...) an...

Going down in defeat?

So my efforts to start a guitar club took a quick nose dive. I have been unable to find any place where such a group could meet without paying. To collect dues would mean incorporating as a non-profit under state law, and then there are loads of fees and paperwork with IRS, attorney-general, secretary of state, etc.

Best idea was to collect $$ each night and use that to offset the rent. Pretty unreliable, but it might work.

My thought at the moment is to reconnect with the people who expressed… Continue

Guitar Clubs

I've been thinking of approaching either my local library or my local park district to see if they'd let me have space to start a "guitar club." Does anyone have any experience and advice about this sort of endeavor?

What I envision is a place where people can get together every other week for a couple of hours in the evening to play for and with each other, and to teach and critique each other. I'm not really interested in creating a situation where someone can show off his or her shredding ab… Continue

Hi John , it is sort of unrelated to guitar in a way. How I found the group was through a ham radio operator friend of mine that happens to also play guitar. He told me about it at a ham radio meeting we were at. I told him I did not play well and he just said come to one of the jams and bring my guitar. You can look for jams in your area by searching for bluegrass jams in your area or you could also try folk music circles or jams . Hope this helps you out.

HI John I have a friend that works for Washburn Nick Ellingsworth( Production Manager ), give him a call and ask him if it's possible for you to do a tour of their custom shop (847-949-0444 ) and tell him the Ship of Fools suggested it and you can see what they are making these days, hope this helps you out deciding .Ship
