You may want to try silk and steel. I prefer a mellower sound as well, and I've been using them for years.

Hello Highlander! In my opinion, D'Addario Phosphor Bronze 0.12/0.52, but it's a personal taste. You should have to try also Bright Bronze, that some prefer to Phosphor, and other brands. Personally I don't like Martin strings. Ernie Ball or Earth...

Hi Scott, I just picked up a Zoom H4 also (with the 2 gig card as well). I'm just starting to get to know my way around it. Any tips for a good level setting for simple guitar (finger-style) and voice? Lon

I use a Zoom H4 Handy Digital 4 Track Recorder. I added a 2 gig SD card and can record at the highest levels for quite some time. It has really worked well for me and is easy to use... Got mine at American Musical Supply Hope this helps.. Scott

I use a roland Br 9000. It is a eight track recorder with many offerings and in the end you can burn a disk right then and there to save the thought or idea, or actualy record a song. I love it. About $700.00.
