"Hi FG, I found that I like the D'Addario Pro-Arte lightly polished sets. The wound strings are lightly polished so it cuts down on the string squeak, without losing some tone that the coated versions tend to do. I also like these sets because…"

John St. replied to FloridaGull's discussion What "Gift" (guitar) would we like to see from Walden this Holiday Season? in the group On Walden Pond...the Walden Guitars group!
"Good question. What I would like to see from Walden? Well, they have a nice selection of Dreads and a nice selection of Grand Auditoriums. They have a few Orchestra models, a couple of twelve strings and a well rounded classical selection. Heck,…"

Lee MacMillan replied to John St.'s discussion Does Walden sell replacment saddles? in the group Walden Guitars
"The Graptech PQ-9200 has a 12" radius and the 9216 has a 16" radius so the latter is probably close enough. "

Does Walden sell replacment saddles?

Hi,Here is the deal. I had my CG4070-Cert set-up by someone I never used before (my normal guy was out of commission for a while). Big mistake. The guy brought the saddle way to low and basically ruined it.So, The guy I usually use finally started up again and I brought it to him. The second, extra saddle, was the wrong radius (I think he…See More

"HI Dave, I'm glad that Walden listened to the feedback and are willing to make some changes. I really do belive those giant MiSi knobs detract from the overall beauty of the Madera guitars. This is an awesome step they are taking in the right…"

"well, the kerfing is not that big, i think it throws you off a bit as the sound hole is quite smallish on the CN2030. I just compared to my CG4070 and it looks slightly smaller then what was used in the steel string model  (can be optical…"

John St. replied to Lee MacMillan's discussion Walden vs Taylor in the group Walden Guitars
"I did compare between Walden and Taylor. The CG4070-CERT vs the GA5, as they were the same wood combination and size I was looking into. Walden CG4070-CERT  ( http://www.waldenguitars.com/CG4070.html ) Grand Auditorium Solid Cedar over Solid…"

"Yeah, they had a N2030, but... satin finish is just not my thing. I know there is a lot of arguments as why you would want the thinner, satin finish (tone and such), but I never heard that much difference, if any, between the two. So, I ordered up a…"

John St. replied to Pat Kelecy's discussion Walden CG4070TB? in the group Walden Guitars
"Hi, No there are not any fretboard markers on the face of the fretboard. There are markers on the side of the neck though, so when seated with the guitar and you look down, you still see some makings to let you know where you are. After a bit you…"
