I use the simplest passive Pure Western which cost around 100$ (I'm talking about few years ago). I really don't love on-board pre-amplified systems. The Pure Western is so powerful that you can go straight to the mixer.

Yes, I have read about the iBeam, both at L.R. Baggs and in AG magazine. It sounds like an excellent choice, especially for smaller venues, which is where I play . . . for now. :^)

In the past I've had Fishmans and Shadows, but I don't like the undersaddle piezo sound. So I put K.K. Sound System Pure Western on all of my guitars. IMO it's way better.

Hi Ken, I put the K&k Pure Western in my 1976 HD28 along with the vintage endpin so didn't have to drill any holes and you would never know it was in unless you plugged in. Works well. Strong with good sound.
