Actually, the sound hole humidifiers work fine with guitars on the stand or wall! You just have to be aware that they will dry up very quickly as opposed to being inside of a case. I wanted to reduce the humidification in my guitar room during the s…

Matt, I noticed no responses to your question. The Oasis will do virtually nothing unless the guitar is closed in it's case. I've used Oasis humidifiers for years. They are effective and convenient, but if you want to keep the guitar on a stand, you…

I love the Oasis humidifiers. Very easy to maintain and pretty much maintenance free. I've tried them all, and have used these exclusively in the last year or so.

I'm now in Albuquerque, New Mexico...and it's plenty dry here. I'm using the Planet Waves contribution in one guitar, and the Kyser product in the other. The Kyser is a pain in the A__, pancake shaped frisbee...it's an effort to fit into the sound h…

I recently purchased an Oasis humidifier because I like to keep my guitar on a stand in a room with a woodstove. Will the humidifier still be effective while sitting in the soundhole on a stand? I imagine it will be more effective in a closed case..…

I use both the Planet Waves sound hole humidifier (plastic with a sponge inside that hangs on the strings) and the Oasis case humidifier, which gets the job done for me. I live in Phoenix, where relative humidity levels run

I've used the planet waves humidifier and the dampit. The planet waves is good because it won't drip, but they clog after a year or so, dampits are good cause they don't clog, but you can also try the sponge in a bag trick that some people like. I r…

I originallyn used Kyser sound hole humidifiers until the total number of guitars in my collection made it difficult to maintain a re-watering schedule. I've since resorted to a dedicated room for my collection which is humidified. I have also settl…

Hi all, I'm looking for suggestions regarding your personal experience with the various products available to provide the correct humidity levels for acoustic guitars. I've seen the Oasis and Kyser products.....just lookn for your suggestions and pr…

Yep, it should never happen, but it's happened to me...only once and I caught the guitar before it hit anything! I fabricated this arrangement myself to minimize the hole size while still giving me a large enough pin to hold a strap. Antoher thing t…

That is a very novel heel pin installation. I have never observed one quite like this. I've seen them under the heel and on the flat backside of the heel. Like you said...some neck heels have more real estate available for a pin. You essentially hav…

Here's how I added a strap button to my Martin D-28... I took a cream plastic endpin and notched it to straddle the sharp heel on the guitar. I then hollowed it out and ran a screw down through the middle and out of the notched end, then I drilled t…

I have to say that it's much easier to drill into the heel of a Gibson or Guild neck for a strap pin because they are wide and flat, as opposed to the shrap ones on a Martin heel...If you do drill a hole for the strap pin, you should put a felt wash…
