Thanks for the info on the recording approach. I think it's works well for that particular song/style. Sometimes we tend to get caught up in the technical aspect to the point that it inhibits the grit (for lack of a better word) of the song to shine…

Bruce, I had to wait for the shivers up my spine to calm to write this. Form a kid on the tough streets of Baltimore, to the paddies, fields, and mountains of Vietnam as a young Marine. I am no stranger to violence. Much of my material is a catharsi…

Blind Lemon,Bukka White,Josh White and on. LIstened to them all to discover the root of the music I eventually wanted to play. Your guitar was sweet. I am not as critical of your vocals. Other than you may have held back a bit. Your likely handmade…

Tim, thanks for sharing that, and they say protest music is dead. I'm guessing that's a new one for yo and your still ironing out the kinks. Still, nice song, simple commentary; reminds me of early John Prine . I think you captured the moment of wha…

Thanks so much for your positivity and feedback and just for taking the time to have a listen, Martin. Much appreciated and I do dig the Paul Simon reference. Little guy... big shoes.
Cheers and happy new year

Hi MV aka MP...thanks for listening and commenting on my music. "One More Song" is one of my personal favorites of all the songs I've written. "August Rain" is my first attempt at composing a purely instrumental piece.
Two guitars: My '62 D28 (Rhythm) my Martin OM (lead melody). the jazzy feel comes from the Maj 7th/ augmented and Diminished chords.

Highly perceptive! This also makes me reluctant to sing through PA systems.
Have you got any more tips? I don’t like seeing myself on video either!
Btw I’ve had to pull the video until I rewrite the line I stole from a friend’s song.
I didn’t realise she would object.
