Michael Rosendahl replied to Chris's discussion Setup Question in the group Guitar Makers
"Chris,   Martin is quite well known for their high actions on new guitars.  They do that on purpose.  Not sure why, but it is probably because they don't know what type of player will be buying the guitar, so the individuals can…"

Michael Rosendahl replied to Chris's discussion Setup Question in the group Guitar Makers
"Chris,  That is totally unacceptable.  You need to find someone that does setups.  He was partially right.  You can work on the nut, and lower the strings there.  After checking the neck to see if it is straight.  What…"

"WOW!   Some great posts.   But in the end, I just make sure I scallop the braces, use my vacuum bag to glue the braces well, make the top and back as thin as I can, and use great tone woods.  It seems to work......But that is what I…"

Thank you!  Your collection sounds quite substantial as well - especially the ones you built yourself!

I also have a wife - and only have the guitars I have now due to the good fortune of having a friend give me five left handed guitars that he couldn't play anymore.  The Martin Backpacker (nylon) I re-strung - same with the Cordoba C5 classical - and a Gibson USA Les Paul Studio, Martin DM-L, and Fender DG-10CELH were traded at Wolfe Guitars in Jupiter for my Seagull Performer CW Flame Maple QI and my Godin 5th Avenue Kingpin II - along with an older Aria LW-15 with a too-narrow-for-me nut that was my only guitar prior to the gift.  I bought the Giannini Craviola 12-string due to 12-string GAS and an incredible deal on Amazon last September... ;-)

Did you happen to be at the Rock and Blues Fest at the Sunrise last Thursday night?  Excellent show!

Hi Michael, thanks for the welcome. Wish I could read music too so I paint by numbers (tab). Instrumental fingerstlye is my favorite also. Ed Gerhard is a favorite but I am still in my Neo Leo phase too. Tommy Emmanuel jut blows me away. I see something about a 4 day build. Do you want to come to work with me?

Well Michael, that's a good looking guitar. I'm sure you are proud of it. Looks like ebony bridge and fretboard. Sitka soundboard? Rosewood sides? Any of that right? What type of wood is the neck & back made of? I can't see that.

I will be thankful for your input Michqael. I see that you built a guitar in 4 days!!!!

Wow, Michael! You built that guitar in 4 days. It took me 4 months to build my first one and there were many 12 hour days and lots of midnight oil burnt in the process. How did you do that?
