Hey Michael, great to meet you here in the AG Community. I know Greg H. too and we have met up at the Philly Vintage Show before. I am a Guild man too and have a 1980 JF212XL 12 string and a 1990 JF30 6 string. Here is a picture from an outdoor gig we do every year:
Anyway, Greg and I are going to try to meet up at the summer Philly show and maybe you can join us there for the show! Edward
Hi, MIchael. I have been around guitars and music in general all of my life. My ex is a guitar player. I am the furthest thing from a performer, ha. I've only been playing guitar for a little while.. Why do I have so many guitars? Um, because I can? Many of my guitars are for sale as I'm thinning the collection. ;)
Thanks for the friend invite. Happy holidays.
I love it! It is a 1980 so it has been "broken in" and has that nice bright maple tone. It is heavy and built like a tank so you can abuse it just stays where I have it set up at. Although my new puppy pulled at the strap while it was on the stand and pulled the jack out of it. I took it to a local Guild dealer who I have do some my work and he even said he was surprised at how nice it sounded after he put it back together for me. I had Martin phosphor bronze strings on it and then switched to Elixers and I like them a little more for all around tone and that big booming volume if you want to hang with the Bluegrass pickers and their D-28 Martins. Welcome to the group!
