I have been reading for some time now about the Epiphone Les Paul Ultra III and its acoustic sound capability. Has anyone tried it and is it as good as it sounds? I am thinking of getting something…Continue

Ok any American Idol fans or even casual watchers out there? Every week the remaining contestants preview their possible song choices in a studio in front of the weekly mentors. There is always a…Continue

"Sounds like we have arrived at the same point Mike, I feel the same way in regard to the nut width. I resumed playing about 2 1/2 years ago and now have 3 dreads, the MMV and D-16 are both great sounding but I've come to the conclusion I would…"

"Hi Mark, I have to say you are right. I am 62 and have not played with or in front of anyone in 40 years and probably never will. It's always just me and my cat. So I honestly had no reason to go the way I did except I WANTED A TOP NOTCH…"

Time for a Change

Well I dumped my Martin MMV. I know, I know, I said I loved it and I did. But from day 1 I always had problems with my fat fingers on the 1-11/16 nut. So I have been watching, waiting, trying different models and finally realized unless I wanted to go custom I was going to have to go with the Grand Performance series to get the 1-3/4 nut width I needed. That settled, I wanted to go dreadnought but GC (and no one else that I could find) had any stock so it was practically a custom buy and out of…See More

Off Topic But Martin Related

I know I should probably post this in the Strings Forum but it's for my Martin MMV so I respect all your opinions. First a silly confession but you'll see the method to my madness. I'm a fan of American Idol. Watch it every week. But not for the singing. I am captivated by what guitars these kids get to play. They are not their own for sure. I suspect AI has a deal with Taylor but every once in a while I see a Martin. So here's my question - I have noticed lately the strings on every acoustic…See More
