Mike Duncan commented on GNuck's group Small Body Guitars
"I play a Wechter TO 8418.  It's one of the best guitars I have ever owned.  It's as loud as a train, but it's awesome to play it fingerstyle.  I can't put it down. "

Mike Duncan replied to Adriaan N Roggeveen's discussion "Sweat and Wood"
"You can take them off.  I've done it.  With success.  But they tell you not to.  You can print out the different size JP armrests.  Cut them out and find which one best fits your guitar."

Mike Duncan replied to mike lugo's discussion Complete Beginner who really wants to learn.
"Try Guitar Pro 6.  You can get it free and if you like you can buy it with all the extras.  I've been playing 34 years and I found a song on there I had been having a problem with.  It helped me get over thet part.  Try it…"

Mike Duncan replied to Maurice Condie's discussion Acoustic Amps
"For years I used the Trace Acoustic TA200 (the one wth 8 5-inch speakes).  It weighed a ton, but with 200 wats you could play with most any band and they didn't have to drop the volume to give you a solo.  If I'm playing…"

Mike Duncan replied to Adriaan N Roggeveen's discussion "Sweat and Wood"
"A John Pearse armrest works great for that.  I sweat really bad on my D-35 and it really helps.  Here's probably the least inexpensive site for them too."

Mike Duncan replied to Paul Walters's discussion Tommy Emmanuel
"I've seen Tommy play 5 times and he's amazing.  I saw him at Winfield, KS.  Beppe Gambetta was playing, it was about 50 degrees outside, and Beppe said he couldn't play because it was too cold.  Tommy walked…"

Mike Duncan replied to henry mosefski's discussion alternate tuning
"If you haven't been playing very long, he's probably telling you this to keep you on his teaching path.  My two-cents worth is the earlier you can start with something the better you'll be later on.  Always tune your guitar…"

Mike Duncan left a comment for Rev. Matt Fontana
"I play at the First United Methodist Church in Decatur, AR.  We play mostly hymns and usually a couple of P & W songs.  I love the Lord and also my church.  I still play acoustic coffee house gigs and love it.  I'm…"

Mike Duncan replied to Jud Hair's discussion If you could only own ONE acoustic for the rest of your life ...
"Adamas' are American built and they will build custom for you.  Unless you've played one, you don't know.  I am partisan though."

Mike Duncan replied to Jud Hair's discussion What are some good biographies or autobiographies of guitar players??
"Chuck Berry's is great.  It will give you insight into how he was treated, both on and offstage.  Levon Helm's "This Wheel's on Fire" is a great read also.  BB King's is so good I couldn't put…"

Mike Duncan commented on Edward Sparks's group Capo Users Group
"I use an electric Kyser on one of my acoustics and my G7th on the other.  The electric Kyser doesn't exert as much pressure as the regular one, so it doesn't detune hardly at all.  Of course my G7th holds the strings at the…"

Mike Duncan replied to Jud Hair's discussion If you could only own ONE acoustic for the rest of your life ...
"Because they are already comfortable playing their own guitar.  I understand totally.  It takes a long time(sometimes years) to become totally comfortable with a new instrument.  I have a carbon fiber Adamas that is tough as nails and…"
