"Ja, I agree with Tony on this one. My Artist Mosaic is B-stock (SF serial number), and it cost me $750 new. It was pretty much flawless to my eyes, and my only guess to the "flaw" would be the pearl Seagull which has a blackened wing,…"

"Millian ... The answer to this issue has been sort of a moving target over the past few years. In a lot of ways, the issue appears to be one of semantics.  Seagull doesn't sell any guitars at all directly.  They only sell through…"

"Well, I did use mahogany for sides and backs, and I've read about mahogany tops. As far as I remember, people consider they make good guitars for strumming, for they produce brilliant, "dry" tone. I also consider myself to be…"

"Plywood is made of three or more thin sheets of wood. Sheets are disposed so that a given sheet has its grain perpendicular to the grain of the previous sheet. Because of that, plywood is more stable than solid wood - it won't shrink in dry…"

"I've spent less than 10' on an all mahogany Martin and that with an "assistant" hovering overhead, so I don't count that, but why I write is that the predomination of spruce & cedar have eclipsed the field, although so…"

"That clarifies things, Dan. Here "presswood" is what we call MDF or medium density fibreboard and it is just that ie pressed fibres. It it certainly easy to work with as it has no grain and I can tell you that no tool can be used on it…"

"By presswood, I believe Godin means some pressed-wood product made of wood fibers or chips bonded together with an adhesive. Particle board, like you'd find in Ikea furniture is an example. It will have veneer (or plastic) outer layers, but…"
