"It's Sitka - someone on another board emailed Seagull a while back with the same question and got this response: "The Maritime SWS SG has a honduras mahogany body and neck, and a Sitka spruce top.""

Type of Spruce in Seagull Guitars

I was curious what type of spruce is used on the Seagull guitars, specifically my Maritime guitar? The specifications just list "spruce". Is it Sitka spruce?See More

"yes.  The Norman would have the smaller nut width.  Since I am trying the fingerstyle as well, I am finding the same things with the smaller nut width.   The wider nut width is so much better for it."

"I have a Norman B18 which I bought secondhand on fleabay for under a hundred quid  and would certainly recommend it, stays in tune and has an excellent sound, I don't think you would be disappointed I do hope you acquired it"

"not sure if any of  the lines will be dropped.   A good part of their business model is that they have a number of lines and can have them in all the shops in an area rather than say, Fender at each shop or Gibson at each store…"

"here is some good reading.   The dealer I dealt with is aware of the LaPatrie factory.   The link is a few years old.  Not sure if they still use Princeville which is around 100 miles away from the LaPatrie…"

"Yes.   Would love the ST68.  Would even love the ST40.   They used to make all the models in LH so they are out there.  I will just have to wait for one to come by.  It will whether a Norman, Seagull…"

"agreed.  my apologies.   Poor wording on my part.     Yes.  It apprears they also change up the websites a bit so they are not total duplicates.  Some have better info on specs, history etc. than some…"
