I have a Takamine Ef341SC (my fourth 12 string over the years) and for the first time I tuned it all down a step to try and ease the action and to not encourage a slight bridge lift before I get it properly fixed (on some advice on this forum) - Previously the action was really nice, low, no buzzing, but I wanted to ease the tension a bit. I have  - yesterday, and was blown away. I don't usually bother with the Chinese guitars when tinkering in a store (Steve's in Toronto), but I have a 1975 D125 M that I love so I gave it a try. It had incredible action and a HUGE sound, sparkling and deep. the weirdest part it was (without pickup) $629.00 at the store. HiI've put together a really simple Singer Songwriter set up for live playing (small clubs - house concerts) that really works, also for playing home with headphones. With the risk of sounding a little geeky...Nothing is required from the sound man (if there is one) except one Mic cable not even a DI. I also use this  with my band as they keyboard player who plays acoustic and sings a few songs.
