Life's Lessons and My Lucky Strike

Sorry to make this my first post and a long one at that but I just got my membership approved in this community and this just happened to me last night.

Last night I was changing strings on my new guitar which I bought just a month ago.  It is a Lowden Lucky Strike, #4 in a series of 10.  The guitar was special to me for many reasons - 40 year old reclaimed Brazilian Rosewood back and sides, Mahogany neck made from reclaimed church pews and a flawless, perfectly grained…

Hi Ray,

I read in the Home Recording Group that you are using an iMAC and that's what I have. I think Garage Band is an incredible program...I am using it's big brother Logic Pro 9 and I  started a LP9/GarageBand Group you might be interested in!  Even though it says LogicPro9 Group...we have members who are using Garage Band as well!  Hope you will join us...Here is the direct link:

Very thoughtful first post.  I know the feeling you had because I had it too when I got the first ding in my new Martin ... it almost makes you nauseous.  After a while, however, I decided that it was bound to happen sooner or later and that in the future, I would simply do the best I could to protect my guitars, but that I would accept my dings, dents and scratches as a part of the price of actively enjoying playing them every chance I got, and knowing that avoiding all minor cosmetic issues was going to be next to impossible unless I just left the guitar in its case.

Hi Ray,

I live in Takoma Park.  Do you know John Warden? He's the best  I know of in the area.  Very busy and last time I spoke with him, he may not be taking on new people, but if you contact him, I suspect he will. He loves guitars.
