A friend is selling a Samick GOM 100 S/N - I'd appreciate any info anyone might have on these guitars. It is orchestra-sized, with  a solid spruce top and a compensated bridge saddle. It plays…Continue

My Sigma classical has some light scratching on the top - mostly very light pick marks, and one nastier surface scratch resulting from the end of an A string scraping the finish while being poked…Continue

Look Who's Coming to Live at My House...Eventually...

Kinda like a mail-order bride - a niece just picked it up for me in Nova Scotia,  an '04 Ami I nabbed from Kijiji for $75 Cdn. with a gig bag. The lady who sold it to me bought it new when she was twelve, did some lessons, been years in the closet. She ID'd it as a Ami Wild Cherry, which would make it a lam top, but I haven't been…See More

B20 MJ Didn't Fix My Thumb Problem

Alas, alas, the B20 MJ has been returned - beautiful guitar, loved the sound and feel, very pretty guitar - but, after a couple of longish sessions, the thumb problem resurfaced with a vengeance. So now I'm back to Square One - the smaller body, slimmer neck isn't the answer I had thought and hoped it would be after a couple of 1/2 hour sessions in the store.Again, full marks to Reid Music - brought it back, they accepted it willingly and cheerfully. You can't get that kind of service from an…See More

"Perhaps another mea culpa - the two headstocks are not parallel in the picture, giving a misleading impression of thickness? Not sure that offset translates into apparent neck thickness, but I believe it does to some extent - picturewise anyhow.…"

Richard ... I saw your e-mail message to the group.  I could be wroing, but I think you have to have "friended" members before a message will ge through.  The mssage wouldn't let me reply to you.  Suggest you put the question directly on the forum for everyone to see.

I uses "Elixer nano coated light gauge phospher bronze" strings and I also use a product called "Fast Fret" which is a string lubricant.  Doing this has not totally eliminated string "squeak", but it has cut way down on it.
