A friend is selling a Samick GOM 100 S/N - I'd appreciate any info anyone might have on these guitars. It is orchestra-sized, with  a solid spruce top and a compensated bridge saddle. It plays…Continue

My Sigma classical has some light scratching on the top - mostly very light pick marks, and one nastier surface scratch resulting from the end of an A string scraping the finish while being poked…Continue

"Welcome aboard , Chuck. The S6 is one of the great bang-for-the-buck guitars, leaving lots of room to learn and grow. Most Seagulls come well set up from the factory; if the action seems a bit high or stiff, a good luthier or tech can improve the…"

New (to me) Acoustic Amp!

Just picked up a used  - but never used - Laney LA 30C acoustic guitar amp. The chap had bought it for his son as a Christmas gift several years ago - by the time Christmas rolled around, son had chucked in guitar lessons, and with a major move pending, he's clearing out stuff. Nice little amp - a distinctly different sound than I can get playing thru the Peavey Bandit 112 I've had for years. I'm impressed with the amp's ability to let me really explore the more subtle sounds, even using the…See More

I do get to Newfoundland once a year.  I have a grand daughter in St. John's and Maggie and I go down each fall.  My son is a cook at the Cathedral Street Bistro.

Blackback Gull, I will give it a shot, and let you know.  It would be nice to play somewhat pain free, huh. ;-)  Thanks!

Richard ... I saw your e-mail message to the group.  I could be wroing, but I think you have to have "friended" members before a message will ge through.  The mssage wouldn't let me reply to you.  Suggest you put the question directly on the forum for everyone to see.

I uses "Elixer nano coated light gauge phospher bronze" strings and I also use a product called "Fast Fret" which is a string lubricant.  Doing this has not totally eliminated string "squeak", but it has cut way down on it.
