"I know you're looking towards a higher end 12-string, but if you can find one, give the Yamaha FG720-12 a listen. You may be surprised. Maybe not, but worth a listen for $350.
Here's a link to a recording I've made with it:
"I had forgotten that I'd even posted this. Thanks for the reply and the offer. However, I actually came up with a melody about 6 months later. I was messing around with the tune and the melody just came to me. I even added lyrics and then…"
"Check out the Yamaha FG-720S-12. It sells anywhere from $300 to $350, typically.
Yamaha makes a quality instrument, so you can't go wrong there, and the tone is quite satisfying.
Many will tell you to be aware of "affordable"…"
Really nice job on this song-it sounds great!!! I remember playing this with a friend about 30 years ago too but had forgotten all about it.
A question-I have a video on my computer that I shot with my I-Phone 4s and I have been trying to…"
"Still have this one for my MArtin 12-string and while I have rebuilt it over the years it works better than the Kyser 12-string and my first rejected G7. I had a double stretch which finally disintergrated. Now that the 12's neck has been reset…"

I have a book from Guitar Player on how to build and fix guitars. So I followed their advice on using super glue.so I took a tube that had the long pointy end and cut it on the bias.1st I put tape around the whole bridge and I had two clamps that where long enough to reach the bridge. And also a piece of wood alittle larger than the bridge, with a soft cloth between the piece of wood and the bridge.I quickly put in the glue in under the bridge I used a thin peice of a metal shim I had to help it get in there good, then I put the clamps on and tightened it up and the next day it was perfect. But now I tune down a whole step.
Hi Robert welcome to All Jumbo Guitar's.I,m also a fan of Alverez guitar's ,I own a 12 string and it really is a great guitar. My bridge was starting to come up but I fixed it and everything was back to normal.I also had one of the colored one's they did a few years ago.The one I had was yellow,it was like a oo type.
Thanks for your recent comment on my "Watching the River Run" video!" I appreciate your kind words...so much so that I put your quote on my website on the "People Are Talking" Page.
Here is the direct link to the page to see your quote! I added it to the "In reference to seeing "Watching the River Run" video:" about halfway down the page. Thanks, Edward
I picked up my FG 720S-12 yesterday. I've enjoyed it quite a bit. The action is lower than I was expecting and I really like the guitar's neck. You are correct about the sound having a sweet middle & high. Thank you for confirming my guitar choice with advice and the videos you've posted. Take care.
