"Thanks for the input. I am thinking that if we do not get someone with us who has experience in this "power" business that we are gonna just play and sing with out amplification/power. I have a loud Seagull and I play and sing pretty loud-…"

"I do not have an amp. I have speakers and mixer and recorder but no amp. If I understand you I would need an amp to plug the mixer into and then the speakers would plug into the Amp- right? I told you I was dumb as dirt in this amp business. Thanks…"

"Instrument mics outside can be all sorts of problems with wind sounds, keeping them focused on the proper area of the guitar--usually 12th fret.  Then you have feedback issues with the amp system if it is close by. Outdoors usually requires a…"

"You mention you have a "mixer" so I am confused.  Do you just use the mixer to record sound and the sound is not exported /sent out of the mixer?  All you should have to do is hook the mixer to a power amp and into the house…"

Amp/Speaker Question

I am dumb s dirt concerning the question I am about to ask. My wife and I play the guitar and sing together. We have done so at Jams and family gatherings and even a couple of times at Open Mics. But what we have not done is play where we needed any kind of amp or speaker. We have four mics and a simple recording/mixer that we have used to record for family and friends. We have been asked to play at an outside event- very, very simple and NOT on a stage but sort of just an outside jam at a…See More

"So are talking about a patch of the finish missing, which still is not really a big deal at the end of the day. The best thing you can do then is to either just leave it or take it to a tech/luthier to have a look and see what they think. Sorry but…"

Rudy Ray replied to Rudy Ray's discussion Scratch Repair
"Well I think that "scratch" was probably not a good description, its more like a place where a scratch has caused the finish to peel and even the cosmetics of that does not bother me but I am hoping that it does not "spread"…"

"Why not just leave it as is, its not like its going to hurt just leaving it alone and you will soon find the more you play it the more scratches it will get over time and that most players look at them as earned bumps and scratches. A guitar that…"

Dennis replied to Rudy Ray's discussion Scratch Repair
"I suggest that you e-mail Seagull and ask what they recommend for sealing a scratch. CA glue ("superglue") is replacing clear nail polish as the favored scratch touch-up, but it should be the slower kind that isn't an instantaneous…"

Scratch Repair

I just purchased a new Blemished Seagull Entourage Mini Jumbo that has a scratch on the top near the edge.It looks very superficial as if the finish has been scratched in and off. Plays great but would like to know if there is a way to "seal" the scratch with some kind of varnish or nail polish or whatever. Any input would be appreciated.   See More
