Your favorite recordings of singers with solo guitars

I think for me it has to be Simon and Garfunkel, I just had to learn Kathys Song, I had only been playing for about six months when someone gave me a Simon and Garfunkel greatest hits and Kathys Song…

hello CVM, it isn't plugged in, it's recorded with a video camera and uploaded onto this site, it's a Gibson J45 and has a great sound. Thanks.

That sounds fantastic! Tell me that is not plugged in..

Hello Edward, I drop the thick E to D to play it, I used to play with finger picks and I got used to them, but I feel that I can get closer to the strings if I grow my nails a bit longer and use those instead, I do use a thumbpick though, I think th…

Beautiful, one of my favorites...what tuning are you using! Love the sound of your Gibson..I own a J160E, like the ones Lennon and Harrison played in the early Beatles with the pickup at the end of the fingerboard and vol./tone control on the top.…

That's a really nice arrangement. I worked out a guitar accompaniment and have sung this song for many years but never took the time to work out a good instrumental bit for after the last verse. I used to have a friend play flute during the instrume…

Hello Edward, I play my guitar every day and a set of Elixir strings can last me about ten weeks before I hear that they need changing, and I am really fussy about sound, as all us guitarist are, they sound great and they are coated so sweat, dust a…

Wow! Man that is beautiful. This is a traditional Celtic piece? Very well played.

I'm curious as to what strings you Gibson players use on your guitars, I use Elixir 12/53 on mine, I find that any other strings lose their fresh tone after about 2 or three days, and these Elixir strings bring out the bass tones.

Hi Russell
I use Guitar Pro to tab songs. It is not just for guitars, but you can add other instruments. I then render to mp3, which is what you hear on this site. But I have a myspace site on which I have recordings of other pieces composed by me. www.myspace.com/peterlynchmusic

btw, I wish I could play as well as you. You seem to effortless play stuff and have a great technique. Beautiful tone from your guitar as well!
cheers, Peter

Hi Russell, thanks for the friendship. Glad you liked the steel intro, wish it was me, but no.
I love your video on Amazing Grace, it is amazing.

Hello Russell,
Thank you for listening and for your kind comment. What you see in my video is a partial capo. It blocks 3 strings. You can strap it on in two ways: It can either block ADG or DGB. So, you see, you can play below the capo.
I will come back to listen to your music soon.
best regards
Staffan
