Scott D. Holland replied to Jud Hair's discussion Survey: How do you listen to music on your computer? in the group "Seagull" Spoken Here ... (also fluent in "Godin" Gab)
"Question 1. Both B and C.  I either listen via external speakers, or plug the computer audio into my amp and then plug the guitar and head phones into the guitar amp. This way I can play along with a song and not bother anyone else in the…"

Scott D. Holland replied to Diamond Dave's discussion Does Godin view laminates differently? in the group "Seagull" Spoken Here ... (also fluent in "Godin" Gab)
"My understanding is that 90%+ of the sound is determined by the top, thus a good quality solid top gets you most of the way to where you want to be. The next contributor (I'd guess about 6% to 8%) is the wood on the back of the guitar. The…"

Ragamuffin Meet - October 2012 Raleigh N.C.

"Recently bought my new Martin D-18 from Harry's ... thought about going to this Raggamuffin thing, but wasn't sure what it was all about.  Looks as if it was probably worthwhile.  I'll be there next year for sure. "

Scott D. Holland replied to Jud Hair's discussion How did you come to be a fingerstyle guitarist?? in the group Fingerstyle players
"I never became very skilled with a pick, so I have used my fingers for decades. As a result, I could pick some but it usually sounded pretty awkward, since I really didn't know what I was doing or how I was supposed to do it. A few months ago,…"

Thanks for the tip! ... I just signed up for a couple of the sessions.  Sounds great, although I'm a little confused as to whether you go for two days on each session or if there are two separate classes, one for group on Saturday and a repeat one for a group on Sunday.  I suppose they'll let me know if/when they respond to my registration.

Hmmm ... "The Fall In" at Harry's ??  Although I frequent Harry's, I've always been a "Fat Sound" customer.  What is "The Fall In" ... I'm probably going to be in the market for a new guitar about that time.
