I once injured my finger and put the normal finger splint from the drug store on it for several weeks as it never seemed to get any better. After tiring of that I went to my doctor who sent me to a hand specialist. He examined my finger and asked ...

Throw the Martin Polish in the trash and get a bottle of Virtuoso Premium Polish ... also, get a bottle of the Cleaner. You probably won't need the Cleaner right away on a new guitar ... but it is good to have if the guitar happens to get really d...

Thanks for your question.
I really like my Larivees, and for different reasons.
The newest one, D05, is 20 years newer than my original L-05 which was my second guitar, after a Fender acoustic that I got for my 21st b-day. The L-09 was built by Jean in Vancouveror Victoria soon after he re-located to the West Coast from Quebec. He can't give me an actual date as he didn't keep records at that time. It is an interesting guitar as it has the inlay of a clasical guitar around the sound-hole but is a steel string. It has amazing sound and was designed for finger-style but flatpicks very well. Jean has a unique (and patented) bracing method that gives his guitars a very even sound from bass to treble. When I started playing in a band a few years ago (after taking 10 years off for family etc) I didn't want to take the L-09 gigging so I went on ebay and was lucky enough to find a D-05 for a reasonable price. I wouldn't say buying a guitar on ebay is the best method but knowing these guitars and having played quite a few I was confident enough to proceed. The new L-05 is more of a factory product than the older L-09 but I believe the methods that are used are accurate and keep costs down. I am very pleased with the sound of the D-05 both acoustic and through the built-in pick-up. I play a lot of country rock so amplification is necessary and this guitar is great. The feel of the neck has been compared to that of an electric and I frequently play as high as the 12th position for rhythm using barre chords. It's that easy. Now that Larivee has a California factory I can see more folks south of the border finding his guitars a great value.
I hope this helps. If you need more info just drop me a line. I am hoping to post some performance videos soon. But time is a factor.
