Structural Integrity of Acoustic Guitar

Hello friends!Well, I'm getting a nice deal on an Acoustic Guitar that has Solid Spruce Top, Solid Mahagony Back, and Laminate Sides, Rosewood Fret-board, and Grover Tuners with Black Knobs. But the issue is, in the area where the fretboard attaches to the body of the guitar there is a tiny spot (about quarter inch) where a pin sized paper can slide inside it. There's a similar spot at the other side as well. I checked the area and saw no bulging or looseness. Are these spots a major problem?…See More

Hello and Namaste to you all from Nepal!Well I can only vicariously show my love for Seagull Guitars by seeing the pics, watching them being played on the YouTube, and reading reviews about them! You know why!? In Nepal we don't get Seagull or any Solid Top good brand for that matter! With 13% VAT, high Customs Duties/Fees slapped on the imports, and the alarming shipping charges swell the cost making it impossible to afford for general Nepalese! The market is flooded with cheap (very) Chinese…See More

That may not be as far fetched as you may think - I have a Christian friend who is involved in micro-business startups in Nepal who goes over there twice a year, and I've been asked to go - can't yet, but maybe in a few years... :-)

I also knew another gentleman who did some missionary work over there - he passed away 2 years ago... :-(
