"Hey Shant!  Good to see you here. I agree with others saying take some really good pics and post here for luthiers to look at. What I would do first is take a really good look at it and try to determine if this "hole" or space is from…"

"Ok, then see if you can get some good pics of it and post here. There are a few trustworthy luthiers on this site, who may be able to help. All in all, if the guitar plays well and sounds good, and is a good deal for you, it might just be worth…"

"I'd agree with Jan. If allowed, I'd take some pics of the guitar or the actual guitar to a luthier for further advice. This kind of issue should not affect structural integrity, but I'd get it repaired. Jan, I've not checked the…"

"Based on the supplied photo, no, this is not a concern.  Though I know lots of people who have to get up several times in the night to make sure the refrigerator still has a working light bulb.  IMO pre-owned guitars should be purchased…"

Structural Integrity of Acoustic Guitar

Hello friends!Well, I'm getting a nice deal on an Acoustic Guitar that has Solid Spruce Top, Solid Mahagony Back, and Laminate Sides, Rosewood Fret-board, and Grover Tuners with Black Knobs. But the issue is, in the area where the fretboard attaches to the body of the guitar there is a tiny spot (about quarter inch) where a pin sized paper can slide inside it. There's a similar spot at the other side as well. I checked the area and saw no bulging or looseness. Are these spots a major problem?…See More

That may not be as far fetched as you may think - I have a Christian friend who is involved in micro-business startups in Nepal who goes over there twice a year, and I've been asked to go - can't yet, but maybe in a few years... :-)

I also knew another gentleman who did some missionary work over there - he passed away 2 years ago... :-(
