Everyting that is old is new again.

I recently was offered an opportunity to sit in with an acoustic band. I readily accepted and had a blast! These fellows were a fun bunch and very entertaining. They apparently liked what they heard because they asked me if I would care to join them on two more gigs! Those engagements went off as well as the first one but the sound was a bit cluttered with three guitars. I offered to play bass on another gig since I still enjoy picking it up now and then. The proposal was warmly accepted so I…See More

"Thanks for the view and compliment Tony. This was recorded with an iPhone so the quality is a bit iffy. The room had a lot of reverberation and the strings came in the kit. Once I switch to my preferred strings it may make a difference in the bottom…"

"Can't hear the bottom end it has with this recording, but the mids and highs sound very nice and it's quite the spiffy looking guitar too.  Great job Terry!!  "

This is what my newly built guitar sounds like. Pretty decent for a kit I think.

"I was not familiar with "Wildwood Flower" so I checked it out on YouTube. Great song, great lyrics & vocals. Nice selection for a "real" first song!"

"Yes Robert I did read your discussion, thanks. As for Reverb, perhaps you were looking at dealers? I've sold a number of items there and have purchased a few as well from private sellers not dealers. They are as bad there as they are on eBay."

Guitar Building Course.

For Christmas my wife enrolled me in a guitar building course at Woodcraft of Woburn, MA. I've toyed with buying a kit but after research I decided I'd wait until I had the time to dedicate to a project like this. This will serve as an…

What would you buy?

I have been blessed by my dear wife and mother-in-law with a generous gift for my recent 65th birthday. Between the two they ponied up $3K for me to buy a new guitar!

I already have a very nice Martin and wouldn't object to another but…

Christmas came early!

I've enjoyed working with wood ever since I took woodworking in High School. I've made a water pump lamp, end table, bookcase, hope chest and audio component cabinet through the years. When work interfered with my ability to spend time on this…

Terry, nice to hear back from you. I've never used the Community much before, so I don't know what further treats await. I hope I'll get round to doing a video before too long

Thanks for the friendship. No, the parrot isn't mine, it's just a friend that I visit, from time to time, in the pet-shop where it lives.

Thanks Terry. You can tell I am a newbie just commented to myself! Get a blood test done to check your rheumatoid factor/level. Early detection can help or prevent twisting of your fingers. I've got or had a great rheumatologist but he's retiring in July. My fingers swell and get very painful but no twisting of my joints. Meds aren't fun but tried all the natural stuff but no go with RA. Fingers are so swollen today as it's 41C here!

Thanks Terry!  It was originally written just to test something, but it kinda grew on me and made me laugh, so I posted it.  8-D  Gotta have fun and laugh at yourself sometimes right?
