"I have a compact , it works great for me. Solo vocal (sm58 to H1 harmonizer, to R1 reverb) & acoustic guitar (Martin Thru harmonizer to PX4 dash of chorus and reverb to a LR Baggs Para EQ ) . I play pretty quiet places. I plan on…"

Life IS good!

Recently my wife and I made our annual trek to Connecticut for a Yankee swap we've attended for the past 14 years since we relocated. It is always hosted by our closest friends Susan & Tom Devine (Tom being my guitar playing best bud) who also… Continue

The big boot!

Today I was notified via email that the band thought it better if we parted ways. I'd joined the ensemble with trepidation back in April. The ad I replied to was for a singing rhythm guitarist with a classic rock background for an 80's / 90's… Continue

What a bummer

Today my Mother passed away after a long bout with lung cancer and emphysema. This almost right on top of Larry (the drummer for the band who I've posted about before) passing last week. Jackie and I went to Larry's wake (see posting) and funeral…

The Wake

Jackie (my wife) and I went to Larry's (the drummer for the band) wake today. It started at 2 P.M. and we were one of the first ones there. In the lobby there were several posters filled with photos. I saw a part of Larry's life that I'd never…

Well, kudos to you for putting it out there....takes a lot of courage and dedication, and having a group of stars doesn't hurt either.

have fun!

Well, that makes you a real guitarist....and it sounds like you may have a good group on your hands.

Best of luck getting it all together and makin' music.....should be fun!

Nope, no 12-string yet....but too busy to even play my 6-string right now, so that's okay. It was ordered 8 days ago and the shortest delivery is about 2 weeks.

As far as my guitar skills, they are pretty ordinary. I can chord just about anything if it's in simple format and I do a little finger-style stuff, but I mostly play so I can sing and those who listen say I sing pretty good. Who am I to argue. I am, however, working on playing better, especially finger-style/Travis style.  I was recently diagnosed with arthritis in both hands (nowhere else) so that cramps my style a lot. It's a great challenge at 56, but great fun.

I hoping to put up a video of me doing a song or two in the next 3-4 months.....we'll see how that goes.

How about you....what are you up to?

At 11:45am on January 9, 2013, Alan Edmunds said…

Well, I'm glad your guitar is as good as new...or better.

Hmmm, not sure my guitars play as well as they look when in my hands, but I have a great time playing them. Looking forward to getting my new 12-string in a few weeks.

Thanks for the invite...accepted, of course. And, again, sorry about Lou. Has the repair happened?

Hi T, good thing is I'm making money to pay the bills. F/U about guitars now own Washburn WG26SE, Takamine TF450SM SB, and Fender American Strat Deluxe. I'm selling St Blues Mississippi Bluesmaster,Reverend Sensei RT, & Morgan Monroe Blues 32. I'm taking your advise and play even if its for 15-20 minutes when I come home to keep the rust off. Hope you have a great, prosperous, healthy 2013....Marty
