The LMOM commented on FloridaGull's group On Walden Pond...the Walden Guitars group!
"Hey, All.  I l haven't posted much here, but I lurk here a lot.  My main guitar for recording and playing out is a GL570 that I've had for about 4 years.  I occasionally think about getting a higher-end guitar, but the 570…"

The LMOM commented on Edward Sparks's group Harmony Guitars - "The People's Guitar"
"Hey you Harmony folks. I don't normally post here.  I don't have a Harmony guitar.  But I saw The Mountain Goats play last weekend and front man John Darnielle was playing a really sweet Harmony guitar.  I have no idea what…"

The LMOM replied to Jud Hair's discussion Is Open Mic in Some Ways Harder than a Straight Gig? in the group Coffee House Players
"I absolutely agree.  I always find an open mic much tougher than a straight gig.  You're unsure of the audience, there's usually a lot more time to sit there and stew and get nervous while you wait to play, and there's…"

The LMOM replied to The LMOM's discussion Guitar Modifications? in the group Walden Guitars
"Yeah.  I could have done a few more applications of the polish to get a higher gloss, but I was very happy with the level of shine it had so I stopped.  To me it had a bit of a broken-in "vintage" look and I liked that. I'm…"

Lee MacMillan replied to The LMOM's discussion Guitar Modifications? in the group Walden Guitars
"I installed a strap button and a Schatten HFN active pickup in my G640.  I have K&Ks in two other guitars but they really need a preamp (imo) to sound good.  I didn't want a UST so I chose the Schatten with is an SBT  (but…"

Lee MacMillan replied to The LMOM's discussion Guitar Modifications? in the group Walden Guitars
"Can't see that much difference with these pictures.  I saw a post on the Martin forum where a guy did his D-15 using Mequiers polish and the difference was pretty dramatic."

The LMOM replied to Dave Word's discussion Strap Button Placement on a Walden Guitar in the group Walden Guitars
"I put one on my G570.  It was very quick and easy. I'd written to Walden to ask this very question because I didn't want to hit one of the neck bolts and got the information in a very nice e-mail reply directly from Jonathan Lee…"

Dave Word replied to The LMOM's discussion Guitar Modifications? in the group Walden Guitars
"That looks pretty awesome - kinda like a Eggshell finish. As far as modifications on the guitars I've done is a pickguard removal on a Taylor I'd once owned, also installed a strap button on pretty much every guitar that passed through my…"

Guitar Modifications?

Anyone done any modifications to your guitar?  Added some accessory? I have a G570L which I’ve made a bone saddle for and put a K&K mini in.  Nice additions, but nothing major. But I’d been reading about folks having good results polishing other satin finished guitars like the Larrivee 03 series or Martin 15’s.  It didn’t sound too hard to do, so I thought I’d try it.  I figured I could start with part of the back, and stop if it didn’t look good. There are several different methods for…See More
