"I have found hymncharts to be a great resource. I use the arrangements for acoustic guitar accompaniment all the time. The cool thing is, there are also charts for harmony vocals, strings, piano, etc. that can build on (and align with) the…"
"I've noticed it doesn't seem to be as big a deal with my audience as it is for me (when I record in such a way that I cannot perform live). It is not uncommon to hire others to play instruments you don't play (in my case drums or…"
"Superlux makes some inexpensive mics if you can get them where you are. For the money, they are quite solid and not overly harsh as some inexpensive mics can be. http://www.superlux.us/smalldiaphragm.html scroll down to Superlux SMK-H8K…"
"Bob, my songwriting process is almost exactly like yours. The only differences are that I use Resoph Notes (basically a free-form note editor) on the computer to get all my ideas, songs, and bits down. It allows me to search all my notes for words…"
Hey Tom - thanks for saying "hi" - it looks like we also share a common faith and always good to connect with a fellow believer and guitar player. It also looks like you've got a nice collection of instruments. How do you like the Baden? Take care, Ralph
Hey Tom ! Thanks for the add ! What a great community to be apart of. Nice line up of guitars you have ! You have to try a Cole Clark ! Check out our myspace to learn all about them ! Hope to hear from you soon.
I agree with you there! People say "why do you need all these guitars?" And I just say, like singers, they all have their own voice...
Although I have not played one, I really love the look of the Badens, and since my favorites are the jumbo" body guitars, I really like the jumbo he makes...I especially love the understated look and the way the cut away is designed. I don't think we have any dealers near me right now, but I am in the middle of the Baltimore/Washing DC Corridor, so it's just a matter of time! It's really great when something new in the acoustic world comes out and it's made of wood and not fiberglass or some other bulletproof material! Edward
My friend Steve's Breedlove bass is really loud too...often we rehearse without it being plugged in. If you haven't played one of the fretless ones you should give it try...great sound! You are right, it is a handful!
I get the Carvin catalogs and have always wondered about the Cobalt line, glad to hear you like it. Steve really, really wants a Breedlove guitar and is saving his pennies! My favorite acoustic is my Gibson J100extra, but I do have Martins and Guilds too and big or small I love them all! My wife calls them "the children" and tells everyone they live in the guestroom! Thanks, Edward
Hi a friend of mine has the Breedlove bass like yours...do you have the fretless (his is) or the fretted version...also, how do you like you Carvin Cobalt? Always been curious about them...thanks, Edward
