Can't the past ever go away ?
Perhaps it doesn't have to stay
Perhaps there is a better way
Than to its tempting lure fall prey
Indeed life is quite a journey
Hardships, burdens, and come what may
Why carry those of yesterday ?
When the future is on its way
Promises of a brand new day
From gloominess do shy away
Forgive oneself, hurting allay
And allow guilt its holiday
Listen to the musicians play
They sing the song of the blue jay
Let the sun outshine the clouds grey
Trust only joy to show the way
hope you have an inspired & fulfilling week ! :o)

Tony: Thanks for the info on the Dunlop Lap Dawg. Good timing on it too. I was at day long festival of workshops yesterday and the one session was on lap steel guitar. I noticed the bar he was using was very tall compared to my Shubb-Pearse bars. I should have asked him what it was but I forgot. After looking it up I'm pretty sure it was the Lap Dawg you used on Scooterville.
Do you feel it gives you better control and holding ability? To me it seems like it could. The Shubb-Pearse bars I use have occassionally slipped from my grip.
Thanks again!
John
Hey Tony,
Thanks for the comment on my tune "Tony" great title isn't it :)
...yes it is an original.
thanks,
Don
Tony: I've been work on the Weissenborn on and off for a while. Been working on my slide technique more so on a Fender non-lap steel. I actually find slide work easier on the Weissenborn - go figure? The other thing with the Weissenborn is tuning. I've been back and forth with quite a few. Currently it's in Em (EBEGBE) but I have also used A (EAEAC#E) and D (DADF#AD). What D6 tuning is used for Scooterville - DF#ABDF# is one I can think of - or is it DADF#BD? What gauge strings are you using? I still have the originals that came with mine. I probably should change them soon.
I'm a big David Gilmour fan and his latest album - On An Island - has so many different instruments including the Weissenborn and a Cumbus (pronounced joom-bush). I just purchased a Cumbus and received it yesterday. Will probably tune it up today. It was very cold and it should be acclimated by now.
Tony,
I pieced the sets together from www.juststrings.com. GHS makes the semi-flat strings.

Thanks Tony. I love your videos!I recently purchased a Canon 7D but I am totally new to photography, not to mention shooting video with an DSLR, so any constructive comments you can share on the quality of my videos would be greatly appreciated.
Kind regards,
