While it isn't solo guitar this one stands out for me. The Acoustic Strawbs. They were a progressive rock band in their day. They took these overblown, overproduced progressive rock songs and played them with such feeling on acoustic guitars. I was…
I was surprised that in AG's 240 Essential Acoustic Albums they opted for Neil Young's "Live at Canterbury House" instead. On that one he sounds really unsure of himself and not there yet as a solo performer. On Massey Hall, he's confident and not a…
The singer who moved me the most in the last couple of years was Eva Cassidy.
Her simple, yet elegant guitar picking was the perfect stage for her rich vocals.
Very moving performances!
I love her videos of Over the Rainbow, Autumn Leaves, and Fi…
Yes good topic this.
Years ago..before he was really famous, I saw Tom Waits doing his thing...just he and his guitar...I didn't even know who he was yet. I think of it now...and the memory gives me chills.
I had a computer job that took me to Boulder, CO. Back in 1997 and I lived 15 minutes away from the the Boulder Theater until spring of 2005. It was like being in a total immersion program for 8 years. ; )

Lately I've been listening to the soundtrack from Once, the Irish movie featuring Glen Hansard (from The Frames) and Marketa Irglova. A very simple and I think very well written song is "All the Way Down", just Glen and his beat up guitar.

My wife, younger son and I are going to see Bruce this May. We saw him a few years ago when he was doing an acoustic tour and that was fantastic!!! This is with the band and I'm sure it will be equally as good but different. Actually I have a couple of solo CDs his wife has done and one of them is really good in my opinion.
I am a Dave Matthews fan and have been to MANY concerts. He is coming to a venue near me this summer but we haven't really talked about whether we are going to go or not. "One more or less" . . . This is a great tune. I couldn't stop listening to it. Love the jazzy feel, very smooth, and your voice adds great feeling to it.
