Thanks for the reply. I want the sound that John Martyn makes. I can always work up to Andy McKee style. I'm going to watch closer to hand movements.

or you could use the old Johnny Cash trick and slip a 100 dollar bill through the strings...makes playing Freebird a bit tricky though

Can anyone tell me how to make the strumming sound percussive? I dampen but it's too mellow. I would try and practice anything.
