Hi, Michael! I decided on the K&K after trying one out at Mass St. Music.  They had a guitar fitted with 3 different pickups, and I felt for this little GA parlor style guitar, it was the best sounding and best of all - lowest cost.  Now, I'm still stressing over what to do about my Martin HD-28, and Gibson J-200, but for now - I'm using an older Dean Markley ProMag soundhole pickup, which works surprisingly well.  I can easily switch the ProMag ibetween the Martin and J-200, but the little GA soundhole is only 3 1/4 inch, so it wouldn't fit.  I'm looking forward to getting the GA back, also, having a setup done on it, so it should be in great shape.  It's over 10 years old, and had some relief in the neck, so it was time.  Anyway, keep in touch!  Still trying to get the Pine Tar Bats off the ground - doing videos got harder, since my laptop died.

Michael:

It is in the section about the Martin Shenandoah discussion I started. But, if it's not there:

It said:

"You and Michael Schwartz - I think you guys only have the 6 strings so you can say you have one...or for the lowly 6 string pickers who might come to your home and want to play along...;-)

I love 12 strings, too - hence my desire for a cedar-topped one with electronics...

Hmm- maybe a local trade at Schumacher - I think they have a S12 with Q1 that's been "hanging out" awhile - don't think they even know what a "Natural Element" is...:-)

And I only have one Craviola.....so far....;-) "

FG and I have been in contact, back and forth for a while. He was very helpful in my research when I got my Giannini Craviola 12 string (bought and sold). He offered to trade his Seagull Performer for my S12/Q1. When I told him I really prefer the 12 Strings, that is what prompted the above comment. All in good fun.....

Keep in touch,

Dave

Hi Michael:

Looks like you and I are true 12 string collectors. Check the comment from Florida Gull about us.....Yes, you will have 1st shot at it!! anybody as passionate as you (and I) are about 12 strings deserves the 1st shot. I really have no idea what the value of this guitar is. It appears there were only 12 ever made.

All the best,

Dave

my suggestion is the Fishman Matrix Infinity...it is a great pickup and comes in two nut widths.

Although my Guild 6 and 12 both have factory installed Fishman Matrix pickups with the old discontinued AGP2 preamps, my two Gibson 6 strings have the Infinity model. The Infinity model has a mini volume and tone control unit that is sound hole mounted so it's always handy and yet you can hardly see it. But the best thing about the Infinity is the tone control...it doesn't cut highs or lows, it actually dips or flatens the midrange, which is what makes the acoustic sound acoustic via a pickup!

Also, it has an internal LED light that glows when the battery is getting low...the inside of your guitar will light up red when it's time to change the battery!    I swear by them!

Here is a review by Acoustic Guitar Magazine with a demo video! Check it out!

I know you are into 12 string guitars...here's a shot of my custom made "Sparks" electric 12...This was also in Premier Guitar a while back!

I installed an internal tuner recently...
