"the only other 000 12 string I know of was another custom one that I saw on UMGF. they have an interesting sound for a 12 string. Not the full, robust sound most of us are used to. Anyway, my Wife thinks they're "cute""

Just checked out your website -- I'm impressed; you do fantastic interior design work!

Suggestions for books: IMMORTAL MUSE might be a good choice since you say you like contemporary fantasy.  It's a combination of contemporary fantasy and historical fantasy. You might want to wait until March to pick it up, though -- right now it's only available in hardcover (and as a less-than-cheap ebook), but it will be released in mass market paperback in March, and the price of the ebook should drop at the same time.

Coming out in March (also) is CROW OF CONNEMARA, which is also a contemporary fantasy, set mostly in Ireland.  That'll be a hardcover release -- the mass market paperback won't be available until next March...

THE WOODS is contemporary fantasy if you consider the 1970s as contemporary, and THE ABRAXAS MARVEL CIRCUS is contemporary fantasy if you consider the early 1990s contemporary.

As for series work:  it's not at all contemporary, but you might try the CLOUDMAGES series if you like epic Celtic Fantasy, or the NESSANTICO series if you prefer something set in a faux Rennaisance era.  I wrote both of those under my "S.L. Farrell" pseudonym.

Wow -- nice array of 12-strings you have!

I know what you mean about too little time.  No Border Collies, but a Lab-Shepherd cross who's just a year old.  Plus, I take care of my grandson 2 days a week.  And we're trying to get my Dad moved into a new place - something we'd hoped to have done by October.

Yes, it's a great blessing to share playing with the wife.  In fact, it's how we met, both performing with our then significant others at a coffeehouse in suburban Boston.  A year later, our first date was a church youth group Valentine's party.  A year and a half after that, those same significant others played us down the aisle and we've been singing together ever since.

Always good to make a new friend.  My daydream now is to find a '68 D-35 to go with the 12 - a matched pair.   Saw one in a music shop in Lebanon, NH a couple years ago but couldn't swing the $. Have seen several on Reverb.com since around the price you paid for yours.

Enjoy!

Yes, Michael....we leave for Lakeland in about 2 weeks and will be there about 5 months; I'm on sabbatical.

As mentioned in previous posts, I'm dedicating myself to writing, composing and recording original songs. In addition to the song posted on my AGC page, I have 5 more completely finished and awaiting recording, 4 with lyrics and partial music, and 3 with lyrics only.

I got my new recording gear recently, but will only set up in FL where I can leave it set up for 5 months. Looking forward to the challenge.

No, my D16 is the gloss top with satin back hog.  Age toner is used with the expensive Martin and the D16 is not one of the special Martins.  It is now in the shop for a setup.  It was high when I got it several years ago and finally got to get the nut lowered a bit.

It is a 2011 or 2012 D35 that I changed strings. I will also change strings on my D16,

Thanks.

Actually I've been playing for 30 years on and off, mostly off.  I picked it up again about 3 years ago.  I wish I could play the stuff I could back then, lots of old Rush, arpeggiated or rhythm only, no leads.  That stuff can be hard.  on't have the time or patience now.

Most of my guitars are rescues, didn't pay much for most of them.  A lot of odd and unique stuff.  Don't have the money for the good stuff.  I'm lucky to have to Seagull Maritime's and a couple of old Yamaha's.

The only thing I haven't been able to find is talent!  And my memory sucks.  The right hand knows how to form or learn many chords but the mind doesn't know/remember what to do with it.
