Acoustic Amps

We're working on booking festivals and other gigs for summer and beyond. We need to improve our sound quality, so I'm looking for an AER amp. Heard one being used by a classical guitarist here in the gazebo in JC one afternoon. Cleanest, sweetest amplification I've ever heard. The amp was so small I didn't even see it at first - the EQ and balance was so great, it just made the guitar sound loud and full. There was no dimunition in quality at all - no flattening, no shallowness, etc. Just…

Facing my fears

I had become fairly obsessed by the time I had been attempting to play for a couple years. I was practicing about 30 minutes a night 5 nights a week. My wife inadvertently helped me in my obsession by buying me books, and strings and picks etc for birthdays and Christmases.

I was successful in quitting smoking though, thanks to the guitar obsession. Whenever I had the urge for…

Good News!

I recently heard from our drummer and his Clinical trial drug along with chemo (SP) therapy seem to be helping. The tumor in his pancreas has diminished by approximately 22% and he's gained 8 pounds. It is so encouraging to hear that he's improved however slightly since this is such a deadly form of cancer.

My recording process.

My recording process is coming along nicely. When I listen to a playback I am less embarrassed than last time.

Most fun gig ever...

Last weekend I was hired to play for a family on the beach.  The husband set it up so that I would be playing my guitar sitting in a chair at the waterline (formally dressed but with bare feet).  He would be walking along the beach with his wife and 9-year-old daughter and point me out and come over to talk.  As they were a little bit late, I became somewhat of an odd distraction to people passing by including a squad of Marines jogging on the beach who high-fived me as they came by.  The… Continue
