Searching for a T. Haruo acoustic guitar

I am trying to replace a T.Haruo acoustic which has been lost recently. I would prefera Model 150, but would accept any 6 string made by T. Haruo. If anyone has a lead on one, please let me know. Thanks. DT

A New Ryan Guitar

In 2005 I paid a deposit to Kevin Ryan of Ryan Guitars for a new model that he had yet to design. He started building them last year, and I just received mine. It's called the Paradiso Grand Concert, and I am absolutely astounded by it's beauty, tone and playability.

Steel string guitar playability

I looked at high end guitars today and am stumped on why some seem to feel so much more effortless to play than others. I've read the posts on Martin v. Taylor. I had my wife sit across from me while I played the same song to get an ubiased opinion and she preferred the warmer sound of the Martin. However, the song I chose seemed to flow out of my hand on the Taylor but seemed like more of an effort with the Martin-I think it was their modified low profile neck. I also felt this ease on, of all… Continue

Rory McLeod on tour in the highlands with a new album and coming to a venue near you.

A very brief biography. RORY McLEOD is a one-man-soul-band, and poet. He has a natural troubadour's talent for weaving magical, musical, storytelling spells accompanied by his own bizarre solo orchestra of distinctive instruments. The spoons, finger-cymbals, bandorea, Djembe-drum, harmonica, guitar, trombone and-tap-dancing shoes accompany the "rich, raw, deep and resonant" voice of this "singular and liberating performer." "Expect the… Continue

YOUTUBE erased my version of "All along the watchtower"

Dear friends,
I just got the news that youtube erased my version of Bob Dylan's "All along the watchtower", because Sony Music was complaining that I would violate their copyrights.
does that mean we can't upload cover versions??? we can play them at home but, not in the net???
I don't think that Bob Dylan would agree to this.

Cass County Music

What is up with these guys whoever they are......Pulling copyright on something that has not been sold or set up to make money. These people really wank themselves.

Who knows how I can contact these people, I have searched all over the net and I still cant find them. The purpose for contacting them is to get some satisfaction of letting them know that they simply 'SUCK'.

Newport Wrapup

Well, I'm back home and going through the many, many photos I took to see what else might be of interest. Here's a few that caught my eye, that I don't think I've posted yet.

Here's an all wood inlay on the back of a Charis Guitar, by maker Bill…

Finger style contest Japanese rally finals

I advanced to the final stage of the finger picking contest after a long time with 2005.2006 after it had participated.

This contest performs an original arrangement tune and an original tune.

I arrange nursery rhyme "Dog policeman" this time, and an original tune is performed by "AOBA-JYOH(Green leaves castle)".

As a result of lot, my order of the performance is the seventh.

The contest is a start at 12 o'clock of daytime.

I was peacefully spending till…

Newport Guitar Festival - Day Three

Day three here in Ft Lauderdale took a decidedly soggy turn, but that hasn't stopped the show. It's a busy day, and between catching Muriel Anderson's All Star Night in a little bit and an early flight home tomorrow, I'll have to save most of the rest of my photos and comments until I get home. But here's a few to hold you till thern.

I tried to catch more of the concerts today and also checked out the "other side", the electric room, which actually had some items of interest even to… Continue

Newport Guitar Festival - Day Two

Saturday was a busy day at the Hard Rock, as the crowds came in for the weekend, and the guitar show ratcheted into high gear. I spent the day trying to look at nooks and crannies that I might have overlooked the first day, starting with the Hard Rock itself. Rock may be mostly about electric guitars, at least as evidenced by the guitars on the wall, but today I noticed this nice tribute to Hank Williams on the way in, featuring an "acoustic", even if it was…

Newport Guitar Festival - Day One

Hello from Fort Lauderdale, where this year’s Newport guitar show is being held amid palm trees, and intermittently sunny Florida weather. The Newport show was first held in Newport, RI, hence the name, but has since relocated to Miami, and this year is at a new venue, the Hard Rock Café and Casino. The setting makes for a lot of contrasts. This Hard Rock is a huge full-blown Vegas-style…
