Lichty Handmade Guitars Featured in Garden and Gun Magazine
I recently had an opportunity to visit with the staff of Garden and Gun Magazine in their Charleston, SC
office. They are a great group of people who are passionate about putting out a great publication. They decided to do a feature on Lichty Custom Acoustic Guitars and the response has been tremendous.

Sometimes all ya gotta do is sliiiiiiiiiiiide!
Hey this is Rev. Matt. Okay all, at one time earlier we have struggled to figure out that one chord and then later on end up kicking ourselves in the butt when we realize...that's all it is! A prime example of this (which was also the same way I found out about this) was when I just happened to figure out to play a B-suspended chord and then slide down toward the headstock on the fretboard. Well anyway not only can i apply that to Open the Eyes of My Heart, I can also…

Flying with My Guitar
Airline flight guitar horror stories are legion, so I thought I'd tell one with a happy ending.
I recently flew from San Francisco to Washington, DC on Virgin America -- yes, the airline with cocktail lounge lighting on its planes, which can be a bit disconcerting at 8:00 am. After a warm greeting from the gate attendant, who blithely waved me on board with two carry-ons, I was asked by a flight attendant to gate check my gig bag, in which reposed my Taylor 612 Kathy Mattea…

Entry level does not have to mean difficult beastie
I started messing around a few months ago on an entry level Gibson Maestro guitar, that was given to me. When I got it, it needed a new 1st string, some new bridge pins just to get it into playable shape. Well I did that, then discovered that Hammerons and Pull offs were just weak to non existant on this instrument as well as slides. So I started closely examining the guitar for ways to improve it.
The Maestro I have has a solid spruce top and mahogony sides and back. Okay…

T. Haruo Model 150
I continue to search for a T. Haruo acoustic guitar, preferrably a Model 150, to replace one that has been lost. Does anyone out there in the Acoustic Guitar Community have any idea as to where one might be found?

Tasty Guitar Riffs from NAMM 2010 #4
Being barefoot all the time makes it really easy to start conversations with folks. They all want to know if my feet are cold. People in wheelchairs get really nervous around me. Getting to talk to all of the nutty musicians…

Play Guitar in Open D Tuning
SunDolphin Productions, along with fellow AGC member Larry Allen Brown are excited to announce the release of “Playing Guitar in Open D” taught by Larry Allen Brown (“Through the Trees, a Unicorn” video). Larry is an accomplished guitarist and music instructor who co-developed a unique method for teaching how to play guitar in open tunings based upon color fretboard “zones”.
This course is not intended to teach someone how to play “a song”. It is designed to convey an…
