***UPDATE: From official Neil Young website N Y Times:
On the full moon, the Thunder moon, the world lost one of the greatest
musicians of all time. Ben was 73 years old the night he died on Broken
Arrow Ranch in California, his happy home for the last years of his
life. Ben played with Patsy Cline, Faron Young, Hawkshaw Hawkins, Ian
Tyson and many other music greats. A great American, the quiet giant, he
moved gently through the world,… Continue

SOUL-PATROL.com PRESS RELEASE
"As you all know, in my humble opinion, Billy Jones is one of the most compelling artists around on today's NuBlues music scene.
For his latest album, he has put together a collection of his best songs on a single album called "The Billy Jones Story." This is something that I wish more artists should do with some of the outstanding music they have released and I am glad to see that Billy has taken that step.
These songs are… Continue

I moved back to Nashville in March and not long after someone introduced me to Grant Batson. He looks to young to be as good a guitar maker as he is. I am using a Batson on my new record I just started working on. The Batson has a Western Red Cedar top and East India Rosewood back and sides. It has the LR Baggs Active Element for a pick up. I have access to some incredible vintage guitars to use in the studio, but so far, I can't put this Batson down. Everytime I… Continue

Taesoo Seok lives with his wife, Kyung-hye Kim in Yongin city, South Korea. He plays the guitar and banjo, and his wife Kyung-hye plays the mandolin. One of their favorite spare time activities is to play duets.
Taesoo took interests in a wide range of music by taking private lessons from Brad Davis (flatpick guitarist, Grammy Award Winner), Lisa McCormick(singer/songwriter/guitarist, Overall Grand Prize Winner in the USA Songwriting Contest), and Bruce… Continue

Sand Part 2 - Matt Stevens - Live-looped direct to tape using a line 6 DL4 and an acoustic guitar - no sequencers.
This is Sand Part 2, some of you may remember I posted Sand Part 4 a few weeks back. This is Part 2 of the same thing, I’m not sure I’ll ever finish the project to be honest, although I may redo this part for my next “proper” album. For this one I worked out the chords Am Am maj7/6,F9,E7 then recorded the whole progression backwards into… Continue

Just an update on the case, which was in court today for pretrial confirmation. The prosecution and defense confirmed the trial date of August 2. The case will almost certain proceed on that date; Begley has not waived time - that is, he has not given up his right to a speedy trial - much beyond this court date, and indications are that he will not waive time again. There were some other minor issues covered in court today, but nothing of any significance. The next court date is July 22, for… Continue
