Traveling w guitar & new rules

Has anyone traveled with a guitar under the new rules since the terrorist tried to take down the Northwest flight on approach to Detroit? With the new restriction to one carry-on bag, it appears that if you travel with a carry-on guitar, that's the only carry-on bag you get to take. Has anybody tried it?

Gibson L-50 archtop

I have a Gibson L-50 in reasonable condition and it sounds great. Need the tailpiece strap button. Any ideas on where to get one and what the guitar might be worth? It's a 1953.

teaching guitar as a visually impaird person

hey everyone, i have been taking guitarlessons ever scense i was 4 years old. i have been playing in a band scense i was 16. now starting in february i will be beginning teaching guitar lessons from the comfort of my home.

because i am visually impaird i impliment a diffrent style of teaching. i don't beleive in learning from a book, however i beleive learning TAB is essental. another thing i would impliment is haveing my student memorize the whole fret board.

The History of the Detroit Mugger

My first guitar was a used Strat replica. I bought it from a neighbor in Albion MI; the date must have been around 1970. My friend Jerry sold me a guitar and amp, for about $20 dollars. An Early Christmas Present (to myself)

Aided by the proceeds from my eBay sale (see previous post), and throwing my usual caution and frugality to the wind, I just made my first major guitar purchase since my '74 Guild D50 (yes, it was actually bought in '74). I brought home Charlie Hoffman's 2009 Healdsburg Festival Small Jumbo. It was built with madagascar rosewood back and sides, a bearclaw sitka spruce top, a bevel edge, and a sound port and I had Charlie install a K&K trinity pickup.

First eBay Sale!

Several weeks ago I made my first, and probably last, eBay sale. I sold my 40 year old Harmony by Heath electric semi-hollow boy guitar. It was played for only two years (high school "rock" band) and was in mint condition. I found an eager buyer who gave me a great price and it's now making music in New York City, as it was born to do, instead of sitting in the closet.
