Thursday "tip"

Set a "song goal" for 2012.  Choose 1 song that might be challenging for you to play or one you have always wanted to play, break it down into 12 sections (i.e intro, chords, verse 1, chorus, etc.) and learn one section each month ~ by the end of 2012 you'll be rockin' your favorite song!
Happy New Year and play on...

Martin LX1E

Greetings and Happy Holidays:

I need a recommendation which Fishman Aura Spectrum DI images works best with a Martin LX1E guitar.  There is no listed images in the Aura library for this guitar (spruce top/composite back/sides).  So, short of creating a custom images, I need to use one listed in the library.  A recommendation from the blog community would be great.  Thanks.

Changing Guitars On Stage

Whenever I write up my set lists, I try to put them in some type of order that is convenient with the switching of my guitars. I never put a song that needs a specially tuned guitar right in middle of two songs in standard tuning. I usually try to end a set with the specially tuned guitar that way it doesn’t look like I’m switching guitars every single song. I also address that some songs are acoustic or electric and try to pair them close to each other.

En route to the five preludes...

That's it! After 3 weeks of hard work (but pretty faster than expected), I'm almost done with Heitor Villa-Lobos' Prelude n°1. There are still a few things to work on, but nothing impossible, I guess within a week or two it'll be ok technically, and I'll really start working on the final, personnal touch : nuances and interpretation. Last Friday, when I saw my…

Acoustic vs. Electric

A lot of people ask me about the different guitars I play so I thought I would put together a blog for you- check it out and let me know if you have any other questions....

Q: What kind of guitar do you typically play? Acoustic or electric?

A: This is question that I get all the time and I always have to answer with the ever so bland response “everything.” I love playing acoustic and love playing electric. I really don’t even know which one I’m better at…
