Building My Guitar... The Saga Continues... OH THE AGONY!
Last week I failed to write what happened when I went to the guitar building session. Well, it happened. One of the sides broke under the stress of bending it. They say it happens... but why me... OK enough whinning! I am over it.
Time for new wood. I decided to…

Building My Guitar Cont... The Sides Are Bent
2/28/13, I finally made it back to Arc Guitars Building School to work on my parlor size guitar. Due to other conflicts such as a snow trip I have not worked on the guitar for about 3 weeks. Needless to say its nice work on this project one more time. I also brought my Martin OOO in for help installing a Miniflex Mic. A special thank you to Al for helping me get that thing installed. The hole at the end pin was too small and needed to be enlarged with a router. Al also made some…

"NO STRINGS ATTACHED" Continued...
Now that the busy holiday season is over, it is time to work on my guitar again, It was a bit chilly this morning as I started my drive to Arc Guitars in Winters, CA. I was listening to the news on the way and became so captivated with the current events, I drove past my turnoff and ended up in Woodland. (Don't tell anyone)
I was a little late, but glad to be back…

No Strings Attached Yet, (Building My First Guitar)
11/17/12, Today was an interesting day at Arc Guitars i Winters, CA. The shop was very busy today. Considering 4+ students and an array of visitors, there was never a dull moment.
My quest today was to join the top. While we did not get the top joined as planned, it was sanded and prepared for this…

Been Thinking About This Instrument I Am Working On
I don't go back to the school until Saturday. I am looking forward to the new challenge. I do wonder what will give my instrument the best tone. I was looking at the bracing in a Batson and Mcpherson and I noticed that they carved the centers out of the bracings - They look like bridges because they are scalloped as well. I wonder if this gives the sound more room to vibrate about? I will not try incorporating this idea for this instrument as I need to keep it simple for my first try. ...But…

I'm also sponsoring with Eastman Guitar a talent search for a Future Guitar Legend.
