The video for the new song “Goodbye” was both recorded and videotaped at Church House studios in Austin, TX.  It was great getting back down to the TX music scene.  I have nothing against Chicago, but there is such a noticeable difference in the attitude and recording/performance quality in a city like Austin.  We recorded for a about 6 hours on two different days, so about one day total to do the whole entire thing.  It was overall, the best recording experience I’ve had to date.   I…

Booked studio time back in Austin for August 7 and 8. Another exciting tune on the way.... the 2nd new song I've recorded in the last 5 weeks... first one will be released August 20th

The idea of the Just Say When video was to pick an upbeat atmosphere with some movement.  We ended up using my own place because there was so much going on around it.  There are windows everywhere, and we knew that would give us a great color to the video. We wanted natural light to match the theme of the song.  Just Say When is kind of a summer tune in a way, so when people listen to it I want them to feel that way.  The song has a full band version off of my EP “Late Night” .. but we used…

Well we just wrapped up a weekend of some Midwest touring that consisted of two shows in Iowa and one in Kearney, Nebraska…someone please remind me never to go back there! Whenever I write up my set lists, I try to put them in some type of order that is convenient with the switching of my guitars. I never put a song that needs a specially tuned guitar right in middle of two songs in standard tuning. I usually try to end a set with the specially tuned guitar that way it doesn’t look like I’m switching guitars every single song. I also address that some songs are acoustic or electric and try to pair them close to each other.

A lot of people ask me about the different guitars I play so I thought I would put together a blog for you- check it out and let me know if you have any other questions....
