That's it! After 3 weeks of hard work (but pretty faster than expected), I'm almost done with Heitor Villa-Lobos' Prelude n°1. There are still a few things to work on, but nothing impossible, I guess within a week or two it'll be ok technically, and I'll really start working on the final, personnal touch : nuances and interpretation. On Friday, my guitar teacher and I met up after 5 weeks off. Before going away on vacation, he let me free to keep working on whatever I wanted, and just told me to work a little on flamenco improvisation, but…

Today, at the end of my weekly guitar lesson, my teacher told me that he'd like to present me for an audition next year. So I'll choose, or we'll choose together, a solo piece on steel string guitar or classical guitar, no matter the style of music. Then I'll study within a year and I'll go to the audition. I take it as a nice challenge, but I'm also a bit nervous - already! - about it. Indeed, I guess playing at an audition isn't like playing in front of a regular audience. There may be…

Practice is really worth it. Today I can finally play bossa nova standard Samba De Uma Nota So (One-Note Samba) almost well. The transciption I've got has a part featuring a classic bossa chord-melody progression (with 4-string chord patterns), with a bossa…
