Sorry for the long delay getting back with you and your question... Yes it is our studio, and we did build it a little at a time. PC driven Protools-7.4, going to 9 pretty soon. It was done a little at a time with a lot of trial and error. Things like trying a variety of mic s and pre's to see what works best for our voices and needs, etc. The short of the long, if you don't have $20,000 to dump in to it right away, then it's blood, sweat, and tears....:)
