Thanks Martin Inside label says Model # 5/95, serial # 4795, tested by, and then very faintly, 64 B, which I assume to mean Feb, 1964. Now how does one tell the difference between a Dix and a Doc Williams? Further I have sent an e-mail to the factory to inquire about parts and have received no reply. Do you have any idea where I can get vintage replacement parts?
Thank you for the nice comment on my performance. Catch The Wind is listed there by it's full title, "Try And Catch The Wind". The early 60s Donovan tune. Some of the songs there are from recordings I have done with groups over the years. Some others are from a live show recording from a year ago. The set list is printed on my page. I wanted something to use when I commented on "live" performing and on stage banter. Not that I'm good at it but just to have a reference point for discussions with some of the groups like the "open mike" guys.
I do. I collected most of them some time ago 5 are new. Couldn't afford much but always looking for the perfect guitar. Recently I went to the the Guitar Center recently to look at what I still couldn't afford and there on the used rack was the 12 string. I sat and played it for over an hour.I had to come back with money and prayed it was still there and it was and they chopped 20 percent off because it's been there so long. I picked it up for $300 and now I'm hooked. If I see one for sale I have to check it out. I'll post pictures with numbers later.
Thank you for taking the time to listen to some of the songs I have posted. It is much appreciated!!! I have loved "Till I Gain Control Again" ever since I heard it in the Willie Nelson movie "Honeysuckle Rose"-what a great song. I see we also have Townes Van Zandt in common-I think ther is a song called "Unsung" on my page (if not it is elsewhere) that I wrote as a tribute to him and asked a friend of mine to perform because he made it sound so much more authentic than I ever could. I look forward to hearing more of your music-it looks like we have very similar interests.
