The music is just not the same today as it was in years past...

Reminds me of the old days growing up by the tracks and having my neighbors who were biker guys with friends from all over the US, ie Hells Angels. Was always fun in the summer to have the angels visit from CA and watch the fun. Arlo's song brings back those good old times!

I had the chance to see Arlo last summer in Columbus Ohio
It was a feel good show,I agree seeing his family on stage
The fun they were having
Along with that I had chance to speak to a women for a few minutes
Only to find out she was his Daughter in law selling the shirts and CD's
If they are all like her they are a nice bunch of people
They need a tv show

I had a chance to see Arlo's show "The Guthrie Family Rides Again" a few months ago. It was a great evening--a lot of fun seeing him now, with his grown kids and grandkids (?!). Listening to his family sing reminded me how that tradition seems to have faded. I teach college, and I've discovered that I can't allude to any music--none of the students have grown up singing, and each of them seems to be the sole audience for some YouTube-only band (the same can be said about games: none of my students remember playing games except in some kind of structured, adult-supervised setting and are unfamiliar with "Kick-the-Can," "Simon Says," etc.). They are unfamiliar with Arlo's work (and Woody's!), and equally unfamiliar with most of the "children's songs" my friends and I sang while playing 55 years ago. Arlo and his family represent another, more humane tradition.

A classic, love Arlo, a legacy His Daddy was the greatest. As a motorcyclist I love the song.
