Thanks for the nice comment. The mic on my camera is pretty crummy and it sound pretty "tinny." That guitar just rumbles the floor on the low end, but it doesn't come across well on the video.

The title is kind of a weird story. I was actually working on the song in a completely different tuning. I accidentally started playing the main riff one day, but the guitar was back in standard tuning again (lowered one whole step) and it had a way different character. I decided that I liked it and kept it that way.

Somehow, the thumpy beat in the opening riff implanted in my mind an image of some ritual Aztec dance. One of my heroes, John Fahey, had recorded the Spanish Two-Step and a couple of other tunes with "Two-Step" in the title, so I called it the "Aztec Two-Step" as a tribute It might be somewhat indiscreet to mention, but there was also a round of bad food from a Taco Bell involved in the "inspiration, also." :)

BTW, the strings on that guitar are Martin Silk and Steels. I've currently got D'Angelico lights (which are kind of a medium gauge) on that guitar now, but I'll probably end up going back to the S&S strings. I just like the feel and tone of them.

Greg, nice work ! Where did the song title come from. Really enjoyed the overall strength of the piece. Still, you were able to texture and balance it. Great song, well executed. May I ask what gauge strings you are using thanks for the video, Martin Vincent
